POSITION DESCRIPTION: NURSERY CARE PROVIDER

Employment Status: Part Time, Hourly

Purpose and Primary Focus of the Position: To provide quality nursery care for children ages infant through 4 during Sunday morning worship, usually twice a month, and other times as requested and available.

PRIMARY DUTIES / ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Childcare:

  • Provide a safe, secure, nurturing, and clean environment for children under your care.

99% Meet the physical, emotional, and intellectual needs of children during the time in your care.

  • Provide direction to teenage care givers, as necessary.

Administration:

  • Register first-time children to obtain necessary information for proper care.

1% Sign children into the nursery and check them out to parents.

  • Complete weekly time sheet for Christian Formation Director.

Administrative / Program Relationships: This position reports to the Christian Formation Director and must work cooperatively with other nursery care providers and the parents of the children.

Qualifications:

  • Eighteen years of age and older, unless applying as a teen assistant.
  • Proven experience in quality care of young children, infant to four years of age. Able to lift up to

25 pounds regularly and move easily with the children.

  • Adult caregivers must agree to a background check upon being hired.
  • All caregivers are required to attend the first available Diocesan training workshop entitled, ‘ Safe

Church’, (no fee).

  • Teens fourteen and up must hold a valid Work Permit and obtain certification from a Red Cross

Babysitting Training Class (6 hours), the cost of which will be reimbursed upon completion.

Work Schedule / Time Commitment: Sunday mornings, approximately 8:45 am to 12 noon, plus other times of congregational need, if availability allows (e.g. Christmas Eve, special events, etc.).

Compensation: $25.00 per hour.
