Civil Engineer
Drexel, Barrell & Co. has been serving Colorado communities for over 70 years. We have an immediate opening for an ambitious Civil engineer. This position offers the ability to work either in office or remotely as project work allows. The position requires a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, a CO PE license, and 5 or more years progressive experience. The following knowledge and skills are desired.
Knowledge and Skills
· Rational Method and Unit Hydrology methods for calculating runoff
· Water quality, inlet/spread, and detention calculations
· Bridge and culvert analysis and design
· Temporary and permanent erosion control and stormwater management
· Floodplain permitting for no-rise certifications
· Scope and fee preparation for proposals
· Design plan preparation, specifications, and cost estimating
· Quantity tabulations including earthwork, pavement, and various utilities for cost estimation
· Proficiency with AutoCad/Civil 3D Software
· Design of roadway and intersection geometry, grading, and utilities
· Roadway drainage and storm sewer calculations
