JOB TITLE: Civil-Structural Engineer, EIT

NorthStar Energy Services is seeking an enthusiastic Civil-Structural Engineer to join the NSES Professional Engineering Consulting team.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Structural Engineer for this position will aid in the development of civil design parameters and engineering analysis, calculations, and code interpretations as it pertains to the design of Energy Facilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• ENGINEERING

• Structural

• Steel structural analysis and design of equipment skids, platforms, pipe racks, and cable trays.
• Concrete support foundations for heavy loads, lightly loaded, and rotating equipment and piping arrangements including but not limited to, pumps, electrical stands, electrical buildings, rotating equipment, process equipment (separators, meter skids, etc.), manifold piping, and tanks.
• Demolition Plans, Rebar schedules, material take-off, and structural bill-of-materials

• Civil (Preferred)

• Surface site development plans such as grading plans, drainage plans, erosional control plans, stormwater prevention plans, fencing plans, secondary tank containment, and site-specific permitting.
• Permanent and temporary access road design.

• DELIVERABLE/PROJECT MANAGEMENT

• Coordinate and communicate project-specific civil/structural deliverables with team members of all disciplines.
• Research, review, and design integration of Company Standards, Municipality Requirements, and Regulatory Codes as it pertains to project deliverables.
• Review of site-specific geotechnical reports for purposes of site development and foundation design.
• Perform independent QA/QC of drawing deliverables.
• Review other discipline deliverables to ensure civil/structural designs are properly executed and align with project objectives.
• Perform field related work to obtain design pertinent information as needed.
• Review and respond to project RFI's throughout project-life.
• Review of detailed shop fabrication drawings or other third-party vendor drawings to ensure compatibility with intended civil/structural design

QUALIFICATIONS:

• GENERAL

• US citizen or permanent green card holder
• Select candidates will be required to participate in an in-person technical interview conducted in Arlington, Texas

• Extreme attention to detail, process orientation, and relentless focus on accuracy with a sense of urgency towards project objectives.
• Strong work ethic and ability to establish priorities among drawing deliverables.
• Self-directed and self-motivated with the ability to work independently or with engineering and design teams of other disciplines.
• Ability to react promptly and efficiently shift priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written as well as presentation skills

• EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• EIT/FE certification in the State of Texas
• Minimum 1+ years of experience in the following software/programs:

• Microsoft Office Suite
• SAP, SAFE, and L-Pile Structural Programs

• Minimum 1+ years of structural engineering experience
• Experience in utilizing the following software/programs:

• AutoCAD Civil 3D, CADWorx

• Familiarity and experience in implementing the following codes/standards:

• ACI 318
• ASCE 7
• OSHA
• AISC
• IBC
