Corso's Wholesale is a division within the parent company of August Corso Sons, Inc. which also includes garden center, nursery, floral, and landscape divisions.

Producing over 10 million plants a year to supply Lowe's and Home Depot stores throughout the Midwest, Great Lakes, and New England, Corso's Wholesale has grown to become one of the largest, and most influential, perennial growers in the United States.

Position Summary:

Cleaning crew members remove weeds, plant debris, expired flowers and tangled roots from plants. They ensure that labels, stickers and handles are placed according to quality standards. Members notify the Crew Leader of missing or damaged product so replacements may be obtained. Communication skills, organization, teamwork, attention to detail, attention to safety protocols, and exceptional time management skills are critical to the success of this position within the organization.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

• Remove weeds, plant debris, expired flowers and tangled roots from plants
• Ensure that labels, stickers, and handles are placed according to quality standards
• Check for the correct number of plants on each shelf
• Ensure stickers on carts indicate Lowes or Home Depot and make sure that the same corresponding label is in each pot
• Carts are to be cleaned at a pace that is within the times shown on a provided schedule
• When not working on plants for outgoing shipments, cleaners will be assigned a section/grower to work with in the field/greenhouse
• All equipment (scissors, crates, brooms) will be picked up when leaving the area
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• All other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Excellent hand-eye coordination
• Excellent dexterity
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic math skills
• Experience in warehouse environment is a plus
• Spanish fluency is a plus, but not required
• Attention to detail with low tolerance for unmet expectations
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Team-oriented

Working Conditions & Requirements

Corso's Wholesale operates year around with exposure to all seasons and weather conditions. Candidates must be willing to work in cold, hot, humid, rainy, and windy conditions. Additional requirements include:

• Reliable transportation to and from work
• Excellent attendance
• Ability to stand, climb, squat, bend, twist, and stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift 35-50 pounds, regularly
• Ability to push/pull multiple fully-loaded carts.
• Willing to work flexible and long hours during peak season, with weekends required
• Use of personal cell phone for workplace responsibilities may be required occasionally
