We currently have eight office locations in the Lowcountry and surrounding areas, however, this position will be serving our patients in Hilton Head, Bluffton and occasionally in Beaufort.

The priority of this position will be organizing, planning, evaluating and improving healthcare efforts for their assigned team and offices. You will be responsible for managing a team of 5-6 technicians under the supervising physician. This will require you to manage supply orders, drug inventory, scheduling of employees and verification of timesheets as well as working closely with the physician to manage patient care.

Pay is based on experience.

Ophthalmic Technician Job Responsibilities and Duties

· Managing patient flow of the clinic, and coordinates patient services providing quality care in an efficient manner.

· Working closely with physician, technicians and front desk staff to maintain an efficient clinic

· Delegating prescreening tasks to technicians when necessary

· Refilling prescriptions as requested by physician

· Communicating with patients and addressing all concerns

· Will supervise support staff, scheduling work assignments to ensure appropriate coverage, hires, trains and evaluates performance.

· Maintains established policies and procedures and quality control through quality assurance and risk management programs.

· Maintains and monitors all patient accounts.

· Provides reports, analysis and maintains records as required.

· Coordinates and maintains equipment and supplies ordering when needed.

· Promotes and supports continuous improvement of quality and service to ensure effective clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction.

The Clinic Manager / Head Tech should also be prepared to do the following things:

· Performing prescreening exams

· Checking vision and identifying chief complaints

· Tonometry & dilation

· Administering medications to patients in clinic and provide patient education

· Will be required to get detailed health information from patients and document health histories

· Various diagnostic tests (Fundus photos, OCT, Visual Fields), and may also include some advanced diagnostic testing

· Assist with maintaining an efficient clinic experience

· Assisting physicians with ophthalmic procedures

· Maintaining medical/surgical supplies

Job Requirements:

· Minimum of three years of clinical experience with supervisory experience.

· Ophthalmic experience is mandatory.

· Technician experience is mandatory.

· Medical office experience is mandatory.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.50 - $25.50 per hour
