The Stanford Brain Stimulation Lab (BSL) at Stanford School of Medicine is currently accepting applications for a clinical psychologist / clinical social worker.
The BSL is a hub of multiple clinical research studies utilizing novel brain stimulation techniques to probe and modulate the neural networks underlying neuropsychiatric illness in an effort to develop new models and novel therapeutics.
Join our team to gain extensive experience with a wide range of clinical and neuropsychological assessment tools with diverse out-patient and inpatient clinical populations (Depression, Anxiety, OCD, TBI/PTSD etc.) as well as healthy participants.

The position entails administering and scoring assessments to better understand the effectiveness of neurostimulation treatments for neuropsychiatric disorders. You will also have the opportunity to participate in didactic training, data analysis and presentation, and accrual of hours for licensure in California.
The position is full time remote. Assessments are scheduled according to the patient's schedule and may require flexibility to work after hours. In any case, total hours per week should not exceed full time.
More about the lab’s research
Our clinical trials use a variety of neuromodulation approaches, with a focus in Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), to study neuropsychiatric disorders including major depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, bipolar affective disorder and borderline personality disorder. The research activities include the use of TMS, neuroimaging, and electroencephalography (EEG) techniques to develop new hypotheses regarding the proposed dysfunction within the neural networks underlying these neuropsychiatric disorders.
The overall objective is to refine and ultimately translate our findings into actionable treatments based on strong interdisciplinary and clinical collaborations. Additionally, the candidate is expected to work within a larger team to communicate findings, coordinate care of participants, and attend regular training/seminars.
