This position will be in support of the Gynecologic Cancer Center of Excellence (GYN-COE) located at Annandale, VA.

HJF is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator II to perform core and high-acuity clinical research coordination activities in support of the Gynecologic Cancer Center of Excellence (GYN-COE) Program and the Women’s Health Integrated Research Center (WHIRC) with multi-site clinical research protocols and translational research studies aligned with military readiness, cancer capabilities, integrated women’s health, disparity investigations, predictive analytics, precision oncology, and cancer moon shot initiatives.
Responsibilities:
  • Implement data checks and programmatic review of clinical reporting forms, source documents, consents, and available records to identify and correct inconsistencies, errors, and gaps, and to issue and resolve queries. Organize and manage longitudinal cancer procedures, treatments, biomarkers, and follow-up data.
  • Export, abstract, review, summarize and manage data from medical records and patients accessing electronic medical records and research data systems. Complete clinical reporting and tracking forms, amending content as needed. Implement follow-up data sweeps. Acquire, format, and redact source documents.
  • Coordinate with collaborating sites to provide training, enhance recruitment, expedite resolution of queries, implement priorities, execute corrective action plans, launch new initiatives, and support study participants to contribute data or specimens.
  • Manage and strengthen clinical datasets. Track, summarize and report on enrollments, submissions, data, and quality. Provide written and verbal updates. Develop and deliver PowerPoint presentations. Enhance and execute standard operating procedures, checklists, and training materials.
  • Upgrade, harmonize, and credential research records to align different disease classification, staging, and grading data. Classify final diagnosis, disease distribution, residual disease, pathogenic alterations, and cancer events.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor, including participation and completion of required training and continuing education for this position.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of federal and local regulations and policies pertinent to research involving human subjects.
  • Excellent interpersonal and computer skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and to work with individuals of all levels.
    Knowledge of medical and oncology terms and reports as well as cancer treatments.
  • Technically savvy with Excel and PDF files.
  • Experience multitasking in medical record systems and electronic data capture systems.
  • CITI trained in federal and local regulations and policies pertinent to human subjects research.
  • Expertise with REDCap, Nextcloud, EPIC, Centric, Cerna, SPSS, SAS, R, and/or Python is preferred.
Physical Capabilities :
  • Lifting: Requires lifting materials up to 10 lbs.
Work Environment:
  • This position will take place primarily in a Clinic setting.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience required
