HeartShare St. Vincent’s Services (HSVS) Nuevo Camino program is dedicated to providing 38 unaccompanied minors, ages 5-12, with a supportive, nurturing environment through transitional foster homes, daily education Monday - Friday, and supportive wrap-around services in the East Brooklyn section of New York City. Our program is rooted in ensuring that service delivery is trauma-informed, culturally appropriate, and tailored to the needs of each child while maintaining all program requirements of ORR. Reporting to the Program Director, the Lead Clinician will be responsible for supporting and ensuring the comprehensive service delivery of clinical services in the ORR program. The Lead Clinician will offer consultation and trauma-informed expertise to program staff and stakeholders to promote stable foster placements and provide clinical feedback. Additionally, the Lead Clinician will conduct training during the onboarding process for new staff and continually, as needed. This role includes direct supervision of clinicians.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support and supervise clinicians with service delivery, documentation, and client-related issues.

  • Provide direct therapeutic services to clients and community as needed including group work and family therapy.

  • Ensure ORR and the program's internal documentation practices and reporting requirements are met by following contract and licensing standards.

  • Participate in staff meetings with stakeholders and offer clinical feedback regarding client treatment needs.

  • Attend, facilitate, and assist with providing ongoing education and support services to foster parents.

  • Participate in data collection and review to evaluate individual and program success - set goals for improvement based on overall strategies and objectives.

  • Provide crisis intervention and guidance to staff regarding clinical components of crisis intervention and treatment strategies.

  • Serves as a role model for program participants. Abides by dress code. Always conduct oneself in a professional manner. Remains sensitive and responsive to cultural differences between program participants and staff.

  • Oversee and provide trauma-informed, culturally relevant clinical services to unaccompanied minors.

  • Provide weekly individual supervision to clinical staff while working to build a cohesive team and maintain positive staff morale.

  • Provide individual counseling sessions based on caseload and/or coverage needs.

  • Attend meetings with the treatment team on a regularly scheduled basis.

  • Participates in in-service training and on-site workshops as required for professional growth and development. Attends external training workshops at the direction of management.

  • Represents the organization both within and outside of the work environment in a manner that promotes the mission, vision, and values of the agency. Personally, adheres to organizational mission, vision, and values, in addition to all other agency policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in Social Work and 2 years of postgraduate direct service delivery experience.

  • Licensed Clinical Social Work (LCSW), Licensure to provide clinical services or eligible to obtain professional licensure or registration, if applicable.

  • Bi-Lingual: Spanish.

  • Supervisory experience in direct service delivery with the ability to effectively delegate tasks and responsibilities.

  • Prior experience working with refugee and/or immigrant populations, is preferred.

  • Ability to learn Electronic Health Record/ UC Portal.

  • Excellent organizational/communication skills.
