Job Summary
As Lead, Cloud Developer Security Ops (DevSecOps), you will be responsible for leading a distributed team of development engineers, delivering new capabilities in a reliable manner to achieve continuous operation of the technology environments of various PaaS offerings. This includes virtualization and full stack automation using Terraform and using at scale Kubernetes within Bread Financial public cloud services, while also working with the Infrastructure Services team to make available PaaS offerings for workloads in the Bread Financial On-Prem facilities. You will provide leadership in the DevSecOps areas of certificate and key management, analysis of monitoring events, automation of patching, and other daily security and compliance events and related automation using Infrastructure as Code - IaC. You will contribute to developing and maintaining DevSecOps best practices. Additionally, you will assist in developing an automated and secure framework for robust deployment of tools and processes, using various scripting languages and other solutions.
Job Description
Essential Job Functions:
DevOps Automation - Chef, Python, GitHub, CI/CD, Azure DevOps. API Security, Container Security, Azure, AWS, Cloud Security. Knowledge of PCI-DSS, SOX, and other Financial Operations Standards and Policies and the associated certification and audit processes. Agile methodologies and process engineering. Cloud policy, configuration, and security management tools integration. Security automation and embedding machine learning principles in driving event-based correlation.
Program Management
- Incident, service request processing including all communications, teamwork, data-driven insights, planning and driving continuous improvements of operations.
Collaboration
- Working closely with the Application and Technology Services leadership driving automation-first approach. Collaborating with leadership across Information Security and Risk Management in driving development in and maintaining standards, protocols and operating processes which enable a secure hosting services environment for businesses. Partner with peers across the teams in delivering technology platforms and services that accelerate business outcomes. Running audits and governing GxP, SOX, HITRUST and other compliance and regulatory aspects across hybrid cloud environments.
Leadership
- Mentoring engineers to drive a future ready automation-first approach within development teams.

Working Conditions/ Physical Requirements:
- Normal office environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 5+ years of DevOps experience.
- 5+ years of private or public cloud infrastructure technologies and operations.
- 3+ years of advanced software engineering experience of delivering complex, enterprise scale solutions using languages such as Python, JSON, YAML etc.
- Experience with large enterprise operations with ITSM, and with demonstrated success in continuous improvement using agile and DevOps
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or Engineering or equivalent relevant experience.
- Experience in architecture and engineering in distributed and heterogenous platforms.
- Experience with Terraform stack development, deployment and support.
- Experience developing enterprise scale environments in public cloud (Azure, AWS) including public cloud IaaS, PaaS.
- Network architecture and engineering foundational knowledge.
- Operating systems and containers advanced knowledge including security policies and configurations management.
- Broad technical/engineering and strong operational expertise in security architecture and engineering.
- Azure AND AWS Certifications.

Salary Range:
$112,200.00 - $267,500.00
The actual base pay within this range may be dependent upon many factors, which may include, but are not limited to, work location, education, experience, and skills.
Bread Financial offers medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, and other voluntary benefits (including basic and optional life insurance, supplemental medical plans, and short and long-term disability) to eligible associates (regular full-time associates scheduled to work 30 hours per week or more) and their spouses/domestic partners, and child(ren) under the age of 26. New associate elected coverage begins on date of hire (with the exception of disability coverage which has a 6-month waiting period). Six weeks of 100% paid parental leave for eligible parents is available after a 180-day waiting period. Hired associates can immediately enroll in Bread Financial’s 401(k) plan.
All associates receive 11 paid holidays. Associates have discretion in managing their time away from work through the Flexible Time Off (FTO) program and may need to notify and receive approval from their manager prior to taking the time off. Associates receive 80 hours of Paid Sick and Safety Time per calendar year at the beginning of each year and is prorated in the associate’s first year of employment.
Hired associates will be able to elect to purchase company stock during offering periods in June and December. You will be eligible for an annual incentive bonus based on individual and company performance.
