Meta Tech Industries is a Precision Machine Shop. We machine complex parts out of exotic materials that have tight tolerances for use throughout the oilfield, space, and defense industries.

Under minimal supervision, the CMM Programmer/Inspector will inspect parts or pieces produced from outside or inside the company to insure conformance with Company and Customer drawings, standards and specifications.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Performs dimensional inspection on in-process or finished flight items using CMM (Zeiss) utilizing Calypso programming.
• Effectively communicate with management and shop personnel to keep the production flowing, identify issues and resolve bottlenecks. Support continuous improvement efforts of the company.
• Creates inspection reports to document actual values against drawing notes. When needed, initiates reject tags, discrepancy reports, and inspection reports in accordance with Company procedures.
• Ensures procured articles and materials have been inspected and tested by the supplier in accordance with purchase requirements and are accompanied with required Certificates of Compliance and/or test data reports.
• Ensure that inspection is done using equipment that is verified to be calibrated.
• Maintains a positive company image with Customer representatives.
• Availability to work overtime as needed to meet production schedule.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

• High School diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 4 years’ of quality control and dimensional inspection experience in a related industry.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience with GD&T requirements in accordance ASME Y14.5.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, mechanical drawings and engineering drawing notations.

DESIRED

• Inspection Experience using a Granite Table and Hand tools
• Inspection Experience of complex machined parts with tight tolerances
• Proficient knowledge of GD&T
• Experience programming and operating CMMs in a machine shop setting.
• Experience with Zeiss Calypso CMM software
• Knowledge of ISO9001, AS9100, quality standard requirements

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
