Position Overview:

The Certified Nursing Assistant is responsible for supporting medical staff in administering care to patients with various injuries, illnesses, or disabilities. The duties include helping patients bathe and maintain proper hygiene, feeding patients or ensuring they take their medication and assessing their patients’ vital signs to notify staff of any changes.We are looking for CNA's to carry out our mission to provide compassionate and excellence. The day shift is from 6 am to 6:30 pm. This position will be primarily based in the hospital, however, CNA's will be expected to cross train and float to the Nursing home and the Common’s Assisted Living facility when the need arises.

Job Responsibilities

• The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) aids the professional nursing staff.
• Delivers direct care to patients as directed by the RN. Always maintains patient comfort and safety.
• Follows all departmental policies and procedures as well as safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
• Represents the facility with integrity and treats every resident with dignity and respect.
• Follows nurse instructions to perform procedures.

• High school diploma or the equivalent is required
• Illinois CNA certificate is required

• Individual courses or courses that are part of a degree, license, or certification program must be related to the employee’s job duties. HMC administration has the sole discretion to determine the amount of student loan forgiveness and whether a course relates to employee’s current job duties.
• Employees regularly scheduled 30 hours or more per week, who have been employed in good standing for a minimum of 120 days, and who have had no performance improvement plans or disciplinary actions in the previous year, are eligible to apply for student loan forgiveness.
