Decimal Engineering is a fast-paced drug-free, equal-opportunity employer and manufacturing facility located in Coral Springs, Florida. D*Decimal Engineering* specializes in Precision CNC Machining and Custom Sheet Metal Fabrications for the aerospace, medical, automotive, electronics, and marine-related industries.

We are EXPANDING and looking for: CNC Machine Operators and CNC Set-Up Operators. Qualified candidates must be able to operate and/or set-up and run a variety of CNC machines including Vertical and Horizontal CNC machines, 9 Axis mill turn centers and lathes.

The successful CNC Operators must have experience in reading and understanding programs, changing tools, resetting tool heights, reading blueprints, and inspecting parts (calipers, micrometers, etc).

Set-up Operators must understand geometric tolerances and have G D & T knowledge.

Responsibilities:

• Applies basic knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, engineering drawings, metal properties, layout and machining procedures to set-up and/or operate CNC machine tools accurately, safely and efficiently.
• Sets up and/or operates a variety of CNC machines with limited supervision, understanding and having the ability to perform tool wear offsets.
• Reads blueprints, drawings, CNC programs and engineering instructions to ensure conformance to specifications of precision parts.
• Performs proper set-up and calibration procedures for all equipment and accessories to be used on projects as assigned.
• Recognizes, deploys and properly uses inserts, fixtures and tooling; aligns and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.
• Properly and safely loads and unloads castings and raw materials in CNC machinery.
• Calculates dimensions, tolerances and machine offset adjustments using knowledge of mathematics and precision inspection instruments.
• Maintains close tolerance dimensions while producing parts at a fast and consistent pace as established for a particular operation.
• Identifies and participates in resolving machining problems in order to produce defect free parts.
• Continually rotates through a variety of manufacturing processes, performing all types of tasks in a team environment.
• Performs daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on CNC machinery; keeps the work area safe, clean and organized.
• Completes all training requirements and follows established procedures (FDA cGMP, ISO, OSHA, etc.).
• Maintains high production standards and supports continuous improvement activities.

Requirements:

• High school diploma/GED required .
• 2+ years’ experience using production machinery and/or having 2+ years set-up experience.
• Extensive knowledge of machine maintenance and operation required.
• Must possess strong basic math skills.
• Proven history of working with gauges and calipers.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
