SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE

  • The CNC Operator / Machinist is responsible for producing machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies while following customer and company policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • 1. Responsible for setting up and operating precision equipment needed to manufacture tools and or machine parts using work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, specifications, or drawings. Setting up components such as switches, tool registers and offsets and programs computerized equipment to adjust for job specifications.
  • 2. Responsible for inspecting and testing finished products. Inspect manufactured tools or parts to ensure they meet all required specifications and complete all required inspection documentation / reports.
  • 3. Responsible for creating programming documentation. When creating or modifying equipment programming, outline all steps in the step-by-step processes followed in programming the equipment for specific jobs.
  • 4. Responsible for troubleshooting productions problems either through knowledge or engaging other experienced team members through resolution.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will have minimal exposure to fumes, moving mechanical parts and loud noises.

  • 1. Sufficient mobility to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time;. Must be able to lift parts 50 pounds or less.
  • 2. See in the normal visual range with or without correction; vision sufficient to read computer screens and printed documents.
  • 3. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Technical School Preferred
  • Basic knowledge of CNC Machining
  • Basic computer knowledge

ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2-3 years of experience preferred
