General Summary: Self-Driving vehicles are going back to school for the upcoming semester starting this January. Join the COAST team to introduce COAST’s self-driving shuttles to the UCF community. COAST is a self-driving vehicle technology company with “best-in-class” software focused on providing autonomous vehicle solutions for first and last mile mobility in city centers, campuses and other environments by adapting vehicle speed so as to be user friendly for passengers as well as pedestrians, drivers and other road users.
As a COAST Shuttle Operator, you will learn about this cutting-edge technology and be part of the award-winning team that invented the world’s first commercially available autonomous shuttle. COAST Shuttle Operators will, among other things, ensure that the shuttles are ready to enter service using state-of-the-art pre-operation checklists, the shuttles are moved from their storage location to the designated shuttle routes on the UCF Campus, the COAST Ambassadors are scheduled and ready for their assignments, and the shuttles are properly charged, cleaned, and maintained before each operational period.
Candidates should possess an acute attention to detail and should be comfortable leading high-energy people and working with computer systems. Candidates are required to have a valid driver’s license with a good standing record.
Job Functions:
· Confidently represent COAST Autonomous and promote the UCF shuttle project.
· Be attentive and able to resolve vehicle maintenance or troubleshooting with the Off-Site Supervisor.
· Complete pre-operation and post-operation checklists to ensure that the vehicle continues to operate safety and its appearance is always first-rate.
· Engage in the startup / shut down process of transporting shuttles from their storage / charging space to the designated route.
· Perform an on-site technical inspection and re-activate the shuttle service in the event of a Safety Stop.
· Schedule the COAST Ambassadors, resolve any scheduling conflicts, and make sure that the COAST Ambassadors are adhering to COAST policies and procedures.
· Collect data on vehicle operations.
· Gather feedback from COAST Ambassadors and UCF Stakeholders.
· Assist with paperwork and documentation related to shuttle readiness.
· Perform necessary maintenance and clean the shuttle before each operational period.
· Works overtime as required to meet production schedules.
· Regular attendance required.
· Completes any additional assignments as requested by Supervisor.
· Comply with and ensure compliance with all Company policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Requirements:
· 1-2 years of work experience in a transportation, operations, or retail environment is required
· Additional technical or industry experience will be factored into hiring and compensation as appropriate
Skills and Knowledge Required:
· Aptitude for computer systems and software.
· Safety-minded and cautious on the road.
· Driver’s license in good standing (CDL is a plus).
· Must be able to communicate effectively.
· Must be a quick study and stay current on operational requirements of the equipment.
· Must be punctual and responsible.
· Must maintain a professional appearance and attitude.
· Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
· Must be able to visually inspect tools, vehicle, equipment, and/or machines.
· Must be able to report observations accurately.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 per hour
Schedule:

- Weekend availability
