Job Purpose
To serve as the main point of contact for all items related to locks, keys and doors, access control, closed-circuit television (CCTV), and fire system maintenance.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, talk, hear, walk, and sit. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally push or lift items. Must be able to work for extended periods on a ladder in hot environments.
Work Schedule
Monday - Friday 7:00AM – 3:30PM. Must be able to work a variable schedule/hour to meet operational needs. May require evening and weekend hours.

Job Purpose
To serve as the main point of contact for all items related to locks, keys and doors, access control, closed-circuit television (CCTV), and fire system maintenance.
Position Description
- Installs and maintains physical lock systems (primarily Best but also has working knowledge of Schlage, Kwikset, etc.…) to include making keys, and installing and maintaining locks sets including cylinder and mortise lock sets
- Ability to maintain Keystone key tracking database
- Develop and manage the design and structure of a re-key or new construction key project
- Full working knowledge of Avigilon ACM (access control manager) software and ability to install card readers
- Full working knowledge of Avigilon Closed Circuit Television cameras/systems (CCTV), including ability to install cameras
- Ability to install (pull) coaxial, category 5/6, and fiber optic cabling and properly terminate such cables
- Provide service and maintain handicapped door devices
- Full working knowledge of College fire system including ability to disable/enable various alarm input devices
- Maintain a service schedule for batteries on Fire Systems
- Create reports on progress of projects as requested
- Other duties as assigned
- Knowledge of campus buildings and grounds
- Operational knowledge of computer aided-dispatch, fire, camera, and door access computer systems used by College Police
- Reading and writing skills
- Good interpersonal communication skills
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions
- Read simple diagrams
- Work independently
- Possesses strong written and oral communication skills
- Must demonstrate a commitment to and ability to work with a diverse student and faculty population.

- Ability to utilize Corrigo, the KCKCC helpdesk ticket system
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding Law Enforcement and College information.
- Working knowledge of BEST key software
- Ability to lift 40 pounds
- Ability to work overhead from a ladder
- Ability to perform responsibilities of a Campus Security Authority for Clery purposes
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Minimum Qualifications and/or Education
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- One (1) year of locksmithing, card access system, or video system experience
- Possess a valid Driver's license and clear motor vehicle record
- Associates Degree
- Experience in designing a master key system
- Experience in puling various types of cabling including category 5 & 6, and fiber optic cable
- Experience in Locksmithing, access control systems, and video monitoring software
