Commercial and Service Plumbers

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF COMMERCIAL PLUMBER

  • This position offers on-the-job and in-class training, that will give you a good opportunity for growth within the company and industry.
  • You will work under the direct supervision of a plumbing foreman learning to assemble, install, or repair pipes, fittings, or fixtures of water, or drainage systems, along with setting fixtures in accordance to specifications or plumbing codes.
  • Consistently show up and work hard.
  • Install and have knowledge of all common plumbing materials, such as copper, brass, black steel pipe, galvanized iron, cast iron, PVC, etc.
  • Measuring, cutting, threading and assembling new pipe, placing the assembled pipe in hangers or other supports.
  • Learning to comprehend schematic diagrams, blueprints and other specifications required by our client, both in the field and in a classroom environment.
  • Cutting or drilling holes in walls or floors to accommodate the passage of pipes.
  • Performing rough-ins of underground piping systems and above ground piping systems, repairing and replacing fixtures. Locating, repairing, or removing leaking or broken pipes.
  • Fitting or assisting in fitting valves, couplings, or assemblies to tanks, pumps, or systems, using hand tools.
  • Work with excavation operators to dig/grade trenches for sanitary/storm sewer installation.
  • Help your foreman with the inspection of structures; locating and marking positions of pipes, connections, and passage holes for pipe in walls and floors.
  • Assembling and installing valves, pipe fittings, and pipes composed of metals and non-metals.
  • Testing pipes by filling them with water or air and reads gauges to determine whether system is working accurately and are ready for inspection approval.

COMPETENCIES

  • 1-5 years of plumbing experience or more.
  • Reliability, strong work ethic, and a desire to be the best
  • Ability to comprehend schematic diagrams, blueprints and other specifications required by client or willingness to learn.
  • Eagerness and willingness to learn and receive instruction and direction.
  • Ability to read and use a tape measure, read a level, and use cutting tools
  • Experience working with hand tools, power tools and electronic test equipment
  • Strong working knowledge of job site safety as well as ability to complete a company specific safety orientation
  • High standard of integrity and professionalism
  • Drug free.

Requirements include 2 or more years plumbing experience and 5+ years in the construction field. Employment will require reliability, strong work ethic, desire to be the best, experience working with hand and power tools, strong working knowledge of job site safety, and a high standard of integrity and professionalism.
