Community-based Family Specialist (ACT Program)

The Charles Evans Center (CEC) is a leading not-for-profit organization located in Nassau County. CEC serves adolescents and adults with addiction and behavioral health needs. We have a great opportunity for a positive, motivated individual to work in a multi-disciplinary, mobile outpatient OMH program with a specialty in family services for ACT recipients.

In this position, you will:

• Responsible for integrating family goals and services with the tasks of all team members.
• Work with the recipient’s natural support system with recipient permission.
• Provide family psycho-education individually and in groups with the goal of improving family relationships.
• Include the recipient’s natural supports in treatment and ACT services.
• Conduct family needs assessments.
• Develop family intervention strategies.
• Monitor the quality of family support services to ensure services are of the highest quality.
• Provides mobile community-based services.
• Participate in on-call coverage.

We require:

• Bachelor’s degree in Social or Human Services; Master’s degree preferred.
• Competency must be demonstrated by at least 1 year of training and/or experience in family assessment and intervention, psycho-education and/or other family support services, including cognitive-behavioral strategies.
• Clean valid NYS driver’s license.
• Must have transportation and be able to travel through Nassau and Western Suffolk County

This is a full-time 35 hour a week position. Eligible for medical, dental and 401(k) benefits.

Starting hourly rate is $27.00/hour. Salary commensurate with prior education and relevant work experience.
