Description:
The Community Garden Cultivator is responsible for the daily oversight, coordination and successful maintenance of Homestead Hospitals community garden, Grow2Heal. The Community Garden Cultivator must enjoy working outdoors with nature, be observant and methodical and have the ability to undertake manual and sometimes heavy work. This position requires the successful completion of continuous, repetitive and sometimes mundane work, but it also requires problem solving and the ability to seek help when needed. The Community Garden Cultivator is willing to take instructions and execute tasks as required for the success of the GROW2Heal garden project.
Estimated pay range for this position is $15 - $18 / hour depending on experience.
Qualifications:
Degrees: High School,Cert,GED,Trn,Exper Additional Qualifications: 2-3 years professional agricultural or gardening work specific to the production of vegetables and fruits is preferred. A basic understanding of organic growing practices is required. Demonstrated competencies in the following areas: soil preparation, propagation, harvesting, food safety, irrigation, organic practices, sustainability is required. A general understanding of the essential job functions, duties and responsibilities of a Community Garden Cultivator is required. Basic data entry competency is required. Minimum Required Experience: 2
