The Caldwell, Comal and Hays County Community Supervision and Corrections Department is accepting resumes and applications for the position of Community Supervision/Adult Probation Officer in Hays County, Texas.

All applicants must have a Bachelor's Degree conferred by an institution of higher education accredited by an accrediting organization recognized by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board; and preference may be given to a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Corrections, Counseling, Human Services Development, Law, Law Enforcement, Police Science, Pre-Law, Public Administration, Rehabilitative Studies, Social Work, Psychology, Sociology.

A Community Supervision Officer cannot be employed as a peace officer or work as a reserve or volunteer peace officer, and cannot be currently on community supervision or parole or serving a sentence for a criminal offense. A Community Supervision Officer monitors and documents a defendant's compliance with Court ordered conditions providing a service to the Courts, community and the defendants.

Job duties include but are not limited to: Office/Field work (Home Visits) with face to face contact with defendants, Court duties/testifying, conducting assessments including alcohol and drug screenings, maintaining case files, abiding by CJAD (Community Justice Assistance Division) standards/department policies/statutes and transporting defendants as needed.

A valid driver's license and motor vehicle liability insurance is required. Final applicants must pass a background investigation and urinalysis test. A certified transcript is required prior to employment with the Department. Must meet and maintain TLETS access eligibility for continued employment in position.
