Skills:
Preferred Design responsibilities primarily involve the design and development of new and/or derivative versions of Avionics, Cabin Management systems, In-Flight Entertainment Systems and amenities as part of outfitting new, custom, and in-service aircraft.
1. Proficient in System level Wire Diagram/Schematic design for aircraft.
2. Experience in Electrical System integration related to Aircraft Avionics, Lighting, and Audio/Video Entertainment systems.
3. Must be experienced with design tools such as Capital Harness (CHS/XC), AutoCad, or similar 2D electrical design software.
4. Ability to complete system level ELA (Electrical Load Analysis).
5. Ability to develop or decipher technical and test specifications.
6. Knowledge of 14 CFR 25 Subpart H - EWIS based design.
7. Knowledge of Catia V5.
8. Part 25 Certification experience for cabin interiors preferred.
9. Familiarity with aircraft STC procedures preferred.
10. Makes technical decisions and provides recommendations demonstrating leadership authority.
11. Ability to employ design standards consistent with company standards and accepted design methods as directed to meet the manufacturing, quality, and schedule requirements.
12. Acts independently to determine improved methods to optimize technical product, cost, and schedule requirements.
13. Develops standards and guides for diverse engineering activities.

Education and Experience Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 8 – 10 yrs.
2. Aviation related experience; or Master’s degree in Engineering with 6-9 yrs.
3. Aviation related experience; or Ph.D. in Engineering with 4 yrs. Of applied engineering experience; or 10 – 15 yrs. In a technical aviation related discipline with 4 – 6 yrs. In an aviation engineering organization B.S. in engineering or related scientific field.
4. Equivalent experience may be substituted. Minimum: Eight (8) years overall work experience, two (2) of which in a design engineering role.
5. Must have strong computer skills and demonstrate proficiency with 2D CAD systems and MS Office programs.
6. Must have strong knowledge of aircraft electrical systems design processes, materials, fabrication methods and aerospace hardware. Must possess working knowledge of substantiation techniques and FAA regulatory requirements.
7. Must be able to effectively utilize aircraft continued airworthiness data. Must be organized, present good communication skills and a professional appearance.
Bachelor's Degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 5 years in specific technical discipline or 10 yrs broad eng experience in several technical disciplines with Bachelors. Experience credit considered for related advanced degrees limited to 2 yrs for Masters, 4 yrs for PhD in fields applicable to this job.

Job Description
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for electrical systems and equipment design of complex aircraft interior and entertainment system modifications.
- Perform research and surveys to determine the best methods to modify aircraft to accomplish project statements of work.
- Design new electrical parts, assemblies and installations defining aircraft modifications.
- Perform electrical analysis and substantiation of new parts and installations including ELA's, TVSA, safety analysis, test plans/ reports Produce engineering drawings, reports, material lists and work instructions to document & install aircraft modifications.
- Provide engineering checks of data produced by peer groups or other project participants.
- Provide technical support during manufacturing and installation of aircraft modifications.
- Interface with customers, suppliers and other project stakeholders pertaining to modification projects.
- Provide guidance and oversight to engineering peer group, and mentor new engineers to operate within departmental practices and procedures.
- Provide statements of work, cost estimates, completion schedules and other project administrative inputs. Practice safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures
