Job Title: Compliance Manager
Location: Remote
Salary: $125K Annually
Job Summary:
We are seeking a compliance professional who has experience in mortgage and collections reading federal and state regulations, statutes, rules, etc., identifying and extracting regulatory requirements from that information and finding strictest standards. The ideal candidate will have legal experience or will have worked in a compliance role in a company that is supervised by the CFPB, OCC, FDIC or NCUA, and actively participated in the development of a compliance program (e.g., requirements, controls, testing, audit). If you are a fit for this role, we are looking for someone who will offer suggestions based on experience and contribute thoughtfully to the overall project.
This position carries with it an expectation of professionalism, integrity, accuracy, ownership, and significant attention to detail.
Core Responsibilities - Compliance Manager:
- Identify regulators, applicable regulations and other legal requirements
- Synthesize and document the requirements found in the regulations, statutes, rules, etc.
- Frequently communicate with management to ensure work effort is directionally correct and on time
- Flag changes that may impact licensing requirements
- Assist the department in establishing and achieving objectives
Qualifications / Experience Requirements:
- Must have 3+ years of related experience as a collections/mortgage paralegal, or in a compliance position that required reading and comprehending regulations, and active participating in the development or enhancement of a compliance program
- Working knowledge of U.S. state collections and/or mortgage licensing, regulatory compliance or similar experience in collections or residential mortgage is preferred; 50-state licensing experience is highly desired
- Detail oriented with ability to read regulations, statutes, rules, etc.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) with excellent interpersonal, presentation, oral and written communication skills
- Ability to grasp complex issues and effectively integrate, compile, and analyze information and data
- Understanding of risks and controls (Audit / SOX experience preferred)
- Well organized, efficient, and resourceful
- SharePoint programming skills are a plus
- Experience with Tableau or similar business intelligence program background strongly desired
Education:
- High school diploma required; bachelor's degree preferred
- Paralegal or compliance certificate preferred, but can be replaced with years of experience
