Construction Estimator Job at Weis Builders, Inc.
An estimator is extremely critical role during in the early stages of any Weis Builders project. We seek individuals who can provide a professional experience soliciting subcontractors, preparing, and completing full estimates for assigned projects. Leads in establishing a complete proposal for submission.
Responsibilities:
- Review specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, bid strategy, and marketing presentations as requested.
- Prepare estimates by calculating complete takeoff of certain sections and reviewing vendor quotations.
- Review and incorporate historical data from prior projects as required.
- Interface with Owner, A/E and /or subcontractors to provide accurate cost estimates.
- Prepare conceptual estimates as needed by our clients
- Participate in plan review and estimating reviews for prospective projects.
- Understanding of construction specifications and blueprint reading.
- Responsible for soliciting subcontractors/suppliers to ensure proper coverage.
- Utilize and complete the subcontractor pre-qualification.
- Identify and distribute documents to interested bidders.
- Leadership during the design process through a design-assist process, value engineering opportunities, alternates and material replacements, new techniques/ideas/products, and subcontractor relationships.
- Lead efforts to secure long lead subcontractors and materials
- Work with Cities and Municipalities to identify and procure required permits.
Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree construction management, engineering, or 2+ year(s) experience in the estimating or project management field.
- Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
