Compensation: $15.00 hourly

The Cook Assistant will assist in preparation of nutritional, attractive, appetizing meals and serves meals to patients and employees, according to established policy and procedures.

This is a PRN, day shift position.

Responsibilities include:

• Performs job coaching functions for food service work in employment training
• Facilitates group or individual skill instruction relating to healthy eating/snacking skills for clients as assigned by the Recovery Team
• Completes progress notes for clients who participate in group/work therapy
• Prepares special items as requested for facility functions or program activities
• Maintains sanitary conditions in the kitchen by supervising and participating in the cleaning of work area and equipment
• Prepares healthy options for snacks/meals to decrease client BMI
• Submit food orders in a timely manner and requisition foods as needed
• Provides diet orders to clients as prescribed by Physician/APRN
• Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

High School/GED preferred

• Experience in food production preferred
• Ability to work within the facility as a team member and flexible to meet the needs of the facility and the clients we serve
