The Coordinator of Access and Delivery Services manages the Access and Delivery unit, employees, and functions. This 12-month position supervises 3 permanent employees and oversees the library’s resource sharing, document delivery, shipping and receiving, course reserves, and copyright. This person develops and provides user-centered, forward-thinking services that support Central Michigan University faculty, staff, students and affiliates. Plays a lead role in assessing the library’s service offerings, monitoring trends in academic library public service practices, and developing innovative practices which position the CMU Libraries for a successful future.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree.
Two years of supervisory experience of full-time staff.
Two years of library experience.
Experience with interlibrary loan/resource sharing systems.
Familiarity with computer software and systems such as MS Office, student information systems, and integrated library systems.
Ability to communicate effectively and clearly in oral and written communications.
Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact with others with respect and empathy.
Demonstrated commitment and experience providing excellent and user-centered public service.
Demonstrated creative and innovative problem-identification and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and independently.

Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in library science from an ALA accredited program.
Experience with Alma library management system and interlibrary loan software, preferably ILLiad and MeLCat.
Experience with interlibrary loan/resource sharing, digitization, course reserves and copyright.
Two years of supervisory experience of full-time staff in a library setting.
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
3 years of library experience in public or access services.
Experience with building operations and patron safety in public facilities.

Duties & Responsibilities
Coordinates and oversees all functions of Access and Delivery Services, including interlibrary loan/resource sharing, desktop delivery, shipping and receiving, course reserves, and copyright.
Manages Access and Delivery unit, functions and employees, which includes a minimum of three permanent staff as well as student employees.
Works with the Manager of Access and User Services to develop, recommend, and implement policies, procedures, and services.
Evaluates and assesses services delivered by staff to library users.
Provides direct user support such as answering questions and resolving problems for students, faculty, staff and community users.
Works collaboratively, cooperatively, and positively with library colleagues, university researchers, and external resource sharing partners.
Manages professional relationships and responsibilities in a manner that reflects well on the University Libraries.
Maintains relevant website content including webpages about copyright, resource sharing, and course reserves.
Applies quality control measures and consults with faculty to ensure copyright compliance for courses.
Configures and maintains ILLiad and other software systems, such as Odyssey, RapdiILL and MeLCat.
Manages the ILLiad Decision Support Pipeline for optimal staff workflows and patron service.
Troubleshoots software and maximizes its functionality for the benefit of CMU library users.
Evaluates, recommends, and implements new technology to improve processes or provide cost savings.
Maintains, evaluates, and recommends consortial resource sharing agreements and partnerships that benefit CMU students and faculty.
Ensures that CMU Libraries meets or exceeds consortial agreement standards.
Provides information as needed for collection development.
Maintains statistics and writes reports.
Recommends and implements changes to policies, procedures, and services, as needed.
Shares responsibility for opening and closing the library and monitoring the building.
Oversees the Access and Delivery budget and its student budget.
Stays informed of innovative customer service practices and trends related to user services.
Demonstrates innovation, creativity, and flexibility and openness to new ideas and approaches.
Adheres to CMU’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) expectations.
Serves on library committees and works on special projects.
Performs other duties as assigned.
