Position Summary
In this role, you will provide project and contract management engineering support and cost analysis services for vertical capital construction projects, including the development of detailed monthly progress reports, which include numerous elements focused on cost and budget tracking and reporting. You will review and analyze change order requests from contractors on numerous capital construction projects. You will consider construction costs, government regulations, potential environmental hazards, and other factors during the planning and risk-analysis stages of a project. You will prepare cost estimates for materials, equipment, or labor to determine a project’s economic feasibility. You will inspect project sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to cost and schedule requirements. You will provide cost advice to industrial or managerial personnel regarding design, construction, program modifications, or repairs on capital construction projects. You will estimate quantities and costs of materials, equipment, or labor to determine project feasibility and estimate operational costs.

Location:
Multiple undetermined worksites throughout the U.S.

Position Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor – Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or closely related technical field of study.
  • Experience: Two (2) years in the position above, as a Scheduling or Controls Engineer, or in a related construction industry project engineering role.
  • Education and/or experience must include:
  • 1. Engineering design, construction, estimating, and budgeting for construction projects.
  • 2. Developing budget reporting and cashflow analyses on significantly sized projects.
  • 3. Construction project functions and workflows for the submittal and transmittal of project documents to project decision-makers.
  • 4. Developing executive-level reporting of information and analyzing discrete impacts for a construction project.
  • 5.Working with multiple agencies, including government representatives, private corporations, and construction personnel, to communicate project information across all levels of each of the stakeholder organizations.
  • Will accept equivalent foreign degree; will accept a graduate degree in the above fields of study in lieu of experience; will also accept any suitable combination of education, training, and/or experience.

Additional Requirements
Physical: Standing or sitting for long periods; must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times and spend extended hours in front of a computer screen.
Cognitive: Problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills; computer and software skills; and ability to read and interpret text online or in printed form.
