We are seeking a professional full-time Remote Point of Contact. This individual will provide remote support for the office and physicians independently and with minimal supervision. Performs other diverse duties as requested or required under the general and direct supervision of the site manager

Point of Contact Responsibilities:

  • To create a positive and professional first impression for the practice and to show the patients a “we care” attitude.
  • Respond to incoming phone calls from Patient Assistance Center specialists promptly and in an exceptional quality manner.
  • Triage clinical calls, ensuring all appropriate questions are asked and documented, recommending an appropriate course of action.
  • Through appropriate call control, ensure that calls are handled efficiently to attain daily call production goals.
  • Accurately and efficiently processes incoming messages (approximately 40‐50 messages per day) from the PAC via Keona Health to include effective triaging of calls and responding to patients in an appropriate timeframe according to policy.
  • Accurately and efficiently documents messages in EMR to the physician for the proper disposition of the message.
  • Contact patients at the direction of the physician to provide results, arrange treatment, and/or discuss status.
  • Scanning and indexing all pertinent information into patient charts.
  • Reviews for completeness and accuracy and then enters required patient demographics and clinical information into Practice Management and EHR.
  • Properly assesses patient questions and conditions, as well as confidently asks questions that relate to symptoms or situations.
  • Provide an explanation of procedures as well as hand out educational materials related to treatment/diagnosis to be able to identify common issues after procedures as well as identify common side effects of medications.
  • Schedule office appointments, local procedures injections, and external labs and radiology.
  • Communicates with physicians regularly to determine preferences and specifics about their specialty.
  • E‐scribe medications per doctor preference as well as the ordering of tests.
  • Completion of patient FMLA paperwork or related medical record requests.
  • Assist with appeals on behalf of the physician.

Point of Contact Requirements:

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of front office experience, preferably in a medical setting.
  • Prior medical assistant preferred or prior patient assistance center preferred.
  • Proficient knowledge of insurances.
  • Computer proficiency and prior experience with EMR.
  • Ability to type a minimum of 40 words per minute.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to travel to other sites as necessary
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong attention to detail
