Counselor, System of Care Across TN (SOCAT)
The Counselor will provide in-home and community based intensive treatment with a population of children, adolescents and families. Provide intervention, assessment/intake, treatment planning, triage, individual therapy, group therapy, and/or play therapy, as necessary. Clinicians will ensure that all documentation necessary to meet contract, licensure, and appropriate behavioral health organization requirements pertaining to these services will be completed in a timely manner per VBHCS standards.
· Works closely with Program Director regarding all grant program protocol and data collection instruments.
· Must be willing to have a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the client with possible weekends, evenings or early mornings.
· Provides in-home and community based intensive treatment with a population of children, adolescents and families.
· Provides intervention, assessment/intake, treatment planning, triage, individual therapy, group therapy, and/or play therapy, as necessary.
· Ensures that all documentation necessary to meet contract, licensure, and appropriate behavioral health organization requirements pertaining to these services will be completed in a timely manner per VBHCS standards.
· Liaison and/or consultation with other service providers and referral sources necessary to achieve treatment goals will be required. This may include: court, schools, foster homes, relatives, case managers, and/or state agencies.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
Must have Master’s Degree in the Behavioral Sciences (social work, counseling, or psychology), or related field. Specialized training in counseling and psychotherapy. Prefer counseling experience with children and families and an understanding of issues related to child mental health and family dynamics. One to three years’ experience or training in social services. Experience working with children/youth and families with significant behavioral health needs. Ability to provide a strength-based, client-centered approach to service delivery.

Pay: From $42,000.00 per year
