A rapidly expanding local courier company is seeking an independent contractor for a full-time, dedicated courier position delivering medical supplies to hospitals in and around the Greater Portland area.

Details:

• The base schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The working hours may be slightly more or less depending on the case load
• A part-time/recovery driver schedule may also be available
• A van and fuel card will be provided to the contractor
• The job will entail picking up and delivering equipment to and from hospitals and surgery centers and communicating directly with the client as well as with management
• The base compensation is $1,000 per week and any hours over 40 will pay overtime - Our current drivers in similar positions are averaging about $1,200 per week

Requirements:

• Candidate must be able to fully commit to the schedule and be flexible if more working hours are needed
• Valid driver’s license and smart phone are required
• Candidate will be required to submit a motor vehicle report and may be subject to drug screening
• Candidate must be able to navigate and work quickly
• Experience driving a full-size cargo van is a bonus
• Experience working in or delivering to hospitals is a bonus
• Candidate must be able to operate a cargo dolly and lift 25-75 lbs at a time
• Some technical/computer knowledge is required
• Candidate must have excellent communication skills and be able to always answer the phone
• Great attention to detail is required
• Good attitude and reliability is required
• Professional appearance and demeanor is required
• Candidate must have the ability to keep a daily hours and miles log and report to management as needed
• Candidate must have the desire to make good money and grow with a rapidly expanding company
• Candidate must be willing to start working immediately
