You want to be an important member of a strong team of other makers who take pride in their work and support each other. As the Credit and Collections Supervisor, you will develop and administer credit and collection programs, oversee investigation of credit risk in customers, oversee the Accounts Receivable department, monitor the collection of amounts due to the organization and design and implement processes to improve cash-flow and reduce receivables. WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (% of Time)

Research and call on complex National Accounts. Process and review account adjustments, provide customer service regarding collection issues, resolve client discrepancies and short payments. Communicating with customer via email, web or phone. Maintain records of all customer interactions. (50%)

Lead, motivate and direct employees using effective performance management techniques, including establishing expectations and goals, providing recognition and feedback, and addressing performance problems. (20%)

Be responsible for the consistent application of the company's credit policy and collection of money from all accounts in order to minimize bad debts. Constant maintenance of aging reports making sure customer accounts are up-to-date. (20%)

Work with branch management to obtain credit information and to place customers on hold as necessary. Work closely with Home Office personnel, including National Accounts Credit and Collections Analyst and North America Regional Controller in resolving credit and collections issues, establishing credit limits over branch thresholds, and understanding and reporting on the A/R status of the branch. Book monthly bad debt reserve (10%).

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in a related field preferred.
  • 2 years of Credit and collections in corporate environment preferred.
  • 2 years of managing and leading others preferred.
  • Experience with SAP experience preferred.
  • Communications: ability to effectively communicate verbally in-person and on the phone with team members, customers, and manager. Proven excellence in written communication. Ability to effectively collaborate with others to reach mutually agreeable outcomes.
  • Analytical Skills: ability to identify key data sources and utilize data driven insights to effectively improve business decisions. Ability to effectively diagnose and troubleshoot problems that may arise. Ability to analyze qualitative data. Exceptional analytical, statistical, quantitative, and deduction skills.
  • Team and Independent Worker: ability to act independently with minimal supervision as well as work with AR direct reports, cross-functional AR peers, Financial Controller, and Branch Leadership.
  • Business Acumen: understanding of business processes and basic corporate finance, management and accounting principles. Demonstrates a strong customer orientation. Ability to successfully negotiate and close a deal.
  • Leadership Skills: ability to retain objectivity and proper understanding of a problem or situation when placed under conditions of stress.
  • Behavioral Traits: ability to demonstrate a strong attention to detail. Demonstrates the capacity to manage changing priorities and ambiguity while remaining calm and controlled. Communicates a “can do” attitude and positive outlook. Ability to demonstrate initiative and resourcefulness.
  • General Skills: Ability to demonstrate superior interpersonal skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Finance Functional Knowledge: a basic understanding of banking and corporate cash management concepts.

TRAVEL REQUIRED

This job requires 5% domestic travel.

PAY

$69,400 - $90,200 / Annually
