The Culinary Apprenticeship program is a one-year training program providing in-depth, on-the-job training, working alongside and under the supervision of a tenured, classically trained executive chef.

ASC Culinary Apprenticeship Program Details

Start the program as a Culinary Aide and increase your earning potential while growing your skills as you work your way to become a Prep Cook and, ultimately, a professionally trained Cook in only one year.

• Work directly with a trained chef to develop culinary skills as you progress through levels of training in a variety of culinary roles
• Complete a combination of certified online modules and on-the-job training that will be foundational for your career track
• Participate in a weekly online training sessions and discussions with program leaders to discuss progress and barriers to success

• Learn how to prepare and maintain supply of food substitutes to accommodate resident choices, cultural, ethnic, and religious preferences
• Learn proper techniques and assist in the preparation, garnishing and presentation of food
• Undertake other duties compatible with your learning and development as required

• Desire to learn and participate in a program dedicate to growing your career in the culinary and hospitality industry
• Passion, commitment and attitude dedicated to serving others
• Professional presentation and strong social skills, able to operate with diplomacy, tact and empathy
• Ability to effectively read, write, speak, and understand English
