White Sands, a HumanGood life plan community (CCRC) in beautiful La Jolla, CA, is seeking a full-time Custodian to join our team. $17.77 - 22.00/hour

Shift days/hours: 8:30 - 4:30 p.m. Sundays - Thursdays

Job Duties:

• Cleans common areas, including public restrooms, elevators, offices, public rooms, beauty salon, resident and employee lounges; cleans furniture and wheelchairs;
• Empties trash receptacles; may deposit recyclable material in proper receptacles; picks up trash and keeps exterior perimeter clean;
• Perform event set-ups and tear-downs

REQUIREMENTS:

Education –High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience/Training –Minimum of one year previous janitorial/custodial or housekeeping experience preferred.

Knowledge

• The standard methods, materials, and equipment employed in custodial work and safe work practices relating to custodial equipment and cleaning agents;
• Knowledge of floor cleaning machines.
• Methods, materials, tools and standard practices for cleaning and maintaining public buildings
• Preparation, use, and disposal of chemical cleaning agents
• Appropriate use of cleaning agent for varied surface types
• Safety procedures when cleaning and moving furniture
