Customer Account Representative Job at The Surgery Center at Mills River
The Customer Account Representative performs duties in all areas of Patient Accounting (Revenue Cycle) including insurance verification, financial counseling, billing, remittance processing, refunds, third-party follow-up and self-pay collections to ensure a maximum reimbursement. Provides financial education to patients regarding benefits to assist in understanding their personal and financial liability. Maintains knowledge of revenue cycle operations, third party reimbursements by local/state/federal payers. Supports the work of the department by completing reports and performing clerical duties as needed. *Job Requirements:* High School Diploma or Equivalent, or higher college degree *Experience:* One-year experience in healthcare billing/revenue cycle patient accounting OR be a graduate of a medical billing and insurance program. Knowledge of patient billing practices, medical terminology, patient registration and federal, state, and third-party billing regulations preferred.
