Customer Service Representative

Full-time, Year-Round

The Customer Service office is the “hub” of the organization. Our Customer Service Representatives facilitate the relationship between Garbage to Garden and our participants. CSR’s interact directly with current and future customers to solve problems and answer questions related to the services we provide, account billing, and general education about composting. The CSR also acts as the liaison between GTG’s office staff, shop-based operations staff, and our field-based drivers. In coordination with other company departments, the CSR team is responsible for maintaining the GTG reputation for excellent service and ensuring that all work is completed at the end of the day.

Responsibilities and duties:

Customer Service

  • Answer incoming phone calls and emails from Garbage to Garden’s residential participants and commercial clients regarding service issues, billing issues, and general inquiries confidently, in a knowledgeable, articulate, and friendly manner
  • Take precise, detailed notes about conversations to accurately track and update service issues across all aspects of Garbage to Garden’s residential, commercial, and event services
  • Create, delegate, and track work orders for our field operation team
  • Act as liaison between Garbage to Garden’s office and operations staff
  • Maintain contact with field operators throughout the day through multiple modes of communication
  • Cultivate strong relationships with both drivers and customers
  • Support management with additional administrative tasks based on interest, experience, and current operational needs

Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years customer service experience & possess a strong customer service mindset
  • Exemplary phone and email etiquette
  • Must be prompt, organized, and with impeccable attention to detail and follow through
  • Ability to manage multiple simultaneous work assignments and be comfortable multi-tasking
  • Must approach customer service with patience, kindness, and a touch of humor
  • Ability to thrive working in a fast-paced environment
  • Eagerness to learn something new everyday
  • Availability during the required hours, 8:00am-4:30pm on a four day schedule Monday through Friday

Compensation: $18.50/hour
