We are seeking a full-time Customer Service Representative in our Carol Stream, IL office. The position helps to maintain customer relations, provides order cycle management, and involves daily interaction with our customers, suppliers, and sales representatives.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with customers by responding promptly to inquiries, providing product information and availability, and processing orders coming via email, phone, e-commerce, and mail.
  • Develop and maintain superior product knowledge to serve customers and recommend potential products to management by capturing and analyzing customer needs and feedback.
  • Communicate with customers and our sales team about forecasts, order status, changes, and delivery with proper documentation.
  • Work closely with suppliers for production / ready dates and resolve order issues by recommending the best solution, expediting the adjustment, and following up to ensure resolution.
  • Manage inquiries from and/or coordinate with other branch/regional offices to resolve order-related issues.
  • Utilize JD Edwards software to create and maintain accurate customer account data and records in our order management system.

  • 2-5 years of experience in a customer service role or related field required; sales, purchasing and/or inventory management is a plus.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Strong relationship builder with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills including being friendly, courteous, helpful and taking initiative.
  • Excellent communicator - both verbally and written, with an understanding of the true meaning of active listening.
  • Ability to demonstrate great attention to detail, hold yourself to a high standard, and take pride in the quality of your work.
  • Have a can-do attitude, action-oriented, self-aware, resilient, and self-motivated to follow through and deliver excellent results.
  • Previous experience in or knowledge of the paper, printing, packaging, or distribution industry will be an advantage.
