We’re looking for a Cybersecurity Engineer/Cloud Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our team.

Position Summary

The Cybersecurity Engineer/Cloud Subject Matter Expert (SME) will plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to protect data, systems, and assets in support of the cybersecurity framework and program. The Cybersecurity /Cloud Subject Matter Expert (SME) focus on security operations & incident response, monitoring and alerting, maturing vulnerability management, aspects of data classification, and access management. The Senior Cybersecurity Engineer/Cloud Subject Matter Expert (SME) will also plan, assess, implement, and maintain security controls within Azure and AWS cloud and hybrid environments.

The Work You'll Do

• Design, develop, and implement security strategies to meet customer requirements
• Work to ensure client satisfaction is measured throughout the term of the contract and report any issues to the Engineering Lead
• Provide technical security assistance and guidance to commercial and government customers
• Conduct customer training and provide advice to customer questions
• Plan, design, implement, and maintain cloud security strategies and technologies
• Conduct automated and manual security assessments for cloud infrastructures
• Ensure cloud infrastructure hardening (configuration) aligns with required compliance frameworks, best practices, and customer security requirements
• Map technologies and security controls to compliance requirements for cloud infrastructure
• Translate technical cloud security requirements into business terms for executive stakeholders
• Lead the growth, development and support junior cloud security resources
• Collaborating with engineering and development teams to evaluate and identify optimal cloud solutions.
• Modifying and improving existing systems.
• Educating teams on the implementation of new cloud technologies and initiativesDesigning, developing and deploying modular cloud-based systems.
• Developing and maintaining cloud solutions in accordance with best practices.
• Ensuring efficient functioning of data storage and processing functions in accordance with company security policies and best practices in cloud security.
• Identifying, analyzing, and resolving infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues.
• Acknowledge and/or respond to customer requests within one business day
• Conduct on-site visits to client facilities when required
• Execute and continuously improve the ISO 9001 QA processes

What You'll Bring

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a closely related field, or equivalent experience
• Relevant AWS or Azure security certification
• 3-5 years of demonstrated experience with Azure, AWS, and government security frameworks
• Azure and AWS security assessment and hardening experience (DoD STIGs, CIS Benchmarks or vendor Security Configuration Guides)
• Proficient technical knowledge and administration experience with Azure and AWS cloud security, identity, and compliance solutions
• Demonstrated success supporting clients with their cloud cybersecurity needs
• Strong writing, presentation, and professional communication skills
• Experience with scripting and automation tools, to include the Azure and AWS CLI
• TS-SCI Clearance

Application Question(s):

• Do you have a minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience with government security frameworks within Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS)?
• Do you have a thorough understanding of the DISA Secure Cloud Computing Architecture (SCCA)?
• Do you have expertise in obtaining an Authorization to Operate (ATO) for Impact Level (IL) 4, 5, or 6 multi-cloud infrastructure?
• Do you bring the ability to automate tasks using the AWS and Azure command-line interface utilities?
• Do you bring an in-depth knowledge of the AWS Well-Architected Framework?

License/Certification:

• DoD IAT or IAM Level 3, or abilty to obtain (Preferred)
• AWS Certified Security – Specialty (Preferred)
• AZ-500 (Preferred)

Security clearance:

• Top Secret (Preferred)
