Position Summary


The Data Analyst role will be responsible for the day-to-day support of the Data Management environment at PeoplesBank. This role will work closely with business and data teams to understand project needs and requirements, provide data governance, and ensure data quality.


The position requires a detail oriented individual with the ability to work effectively with business partners at all levels in the organization. Excellent communication skills are essential.


Essential Requirements, Duties, and Responsibilities


  • Monitor data processing and integrations, correcting as necessary
  • Help promote data governance and stewardship practices by educating non-technical users on how to self-serve and helping them bring their data needs to actionable tasks
  • Understand business processes, logical data models and relational database implementations
  • Partner with business teams to identify areas where we can automate processes and create efficiencies
  • Conduct data analysis to identify, assess and document business requirements, recommending business priorities and advising business partners on options, risks, and costs
  • Determine quality and appropriateness of data, understanding any data manipulation needed
  • Identify data quality issues while performing data profiling, testing, and validation
  • Deliver clear requirements for ETL and reporting requests
  • Understand the Bank's BSA/AML Policy, including satisfactory completion of required annual BSA/AML training as applicable to position and appropriately apply this knowledge to daily activities and responsibilities, specifically understanding that any suspicious activity must be reported to the BSA Officer immediately.
  • Complete all required annual regulatory, sales and service training.

Policy & Decision Authority


This position has no policy making authority, but will assist in the administration of corporate policies and procedures as set forth by senior management and the Board of Directors. Individual is responsible for knowledge of and compliance with corporate policies and procedures.


Educational & Other Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree, or minimum of 2-3 years of equivalent experience in information systems, data analytics, applied statistics, mathematics, or computer science
  • Experience with relational databases and writing SQL queries
  • Experience with data governance concepts and artifacts, data warehouses and data management preferred
  • Familiar with information management practices and system development lifecycle management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Experience with Data visualization tools such as Power BI, or Tableau preferred
  • Experience working with ETL processes and data integration tools like Microsoft SSIS, Azure ETL Services, Azure Data Factory, Talend, Denodo and Informatica, preferred
