Data Analyst - Nursing - Days

Our Data Analysts drive the organization in the use and adoption of data in today’s evolving healthcare environment. This position serves on our centralized analytics team to meet the reporting and analytics needs of our business partners, mainly for regulatory data submissions and clinical quality improvements initiatives. Ideal candidates will be able to think creatively and plan strategically, will be a strong implementer with attention to details, and a good team player.

Key responsibilities for this (title) position include working with team members to complete regulatory reporting projects such as managing requirements, developing/mapping specifications, and building processes to fulfill data submissions. Other responsibilities may include dashboard development, statistical analyses, and model development. The analyst will be working with Clinical, Operational, and Financial data, interacting with stakeholders to acquire their reporting needs, collaborating with clinical specialists to understand their processes, developing reports, and managing project timelines, deliverables and risks.

This is a full-time position at NewYork-Presbyterian/ Columbia University Medical Center

Preferred Criteria

• Experience in fundamental data analysis (such as Excel filtering or pivoting)

• Understanding of clinical operations and workflow

• Project management experience

• Understanding of statistical theory

• Ability to capture, transform and analyze raw data

• Ability to distill and present analytic results to a non-technical audience through various methods of visualization

• Ability to work independently to effectively negotiate and manage competing expectations, commitments, and change

Required Criteria

• Bachelor’s Degree

• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to work within a team environment
