HR Works, Inc. is a full-service outsourcing and consulting firm serving clients in a broad range of industries and sizes. We are currently seeking an Analyst to provide mathematically driven solutions to define and understand our clients compensation practices. The Analyst will work with seasoned HR Consultants in our Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity and HR Strategic Services Divisions to support our clients desire to compensate their employees in a manner that is equitable and aligned with business needs. Full-time flexible work schedules can be in Fairport, NY, Syracuse, NY, hybrid, or will consider full remote.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL

  • Compile, validate, organize, and analyze compensation-related data
  • Work in Excel with small to large data sets, using pivot tables, formulas, and macros
  • Apply expertise in quantitative methodology to select and prepare statistical analyses on compensation data using Excel or statistical software such as SAS, R, Stata, or SPSS; analyses may include linear and logistic regression, t-tests, ANOVA, and other appropriate models based on sample size and pay factors
  • Interpret mathematical findings and prepare clear and concise written summaries with tables and graphs that demonstrate key findings and can be used for managerial decision-making
  • Make recommendations for corrective action related to compensation issues
  • Research and utilize external sources for labor market data, aligning jobs to appropriate benchmark data; assist in establishing pay ranges and determining competitive compensation rates or practices
  • Communicate with internal Consultants and, at times, clients to present findings or solicit additional information to aid your analysis
  • Assist in the selection of statistical software and/or labor market databases
  • Leverage your data analysis expertise to conduct analyses on other workforce data (non-compensation) as needed
  • Research and document compensation best practices; develop corresponding tools for implementation
  • Keep appropriate people informed of the status of projects, work, and deadline; handle multiple projects simultaneously ensuring timely and accurate completion
  • Communicate with internal Consultants and, at times, clients to present findings or solicit additional information to aid your analysis
  • Assist in the selection of statistical software and/or labor market databases
  • Leverage your data analysis expertise to conduct analyses on other workforce data (non-compensation) as needed
  • Keep appropriate people informed of the status of projects, work, and deadline; handle multiple projects simultaneously ensuring timely and accurate completion
  • Compile, validate, organize, and analyze compensation-related data

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • BA/BS degree with an emphasis on quantitative/statistical methods or Education and applied experience in I/O Psychology, Mathematics, Statistics, or Labor Economics. MS degree or higher preferred.
  • 2 or more years of experience in applying quantitative methods to workforce data
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and mathematical skills
  • Experience working with and performing statistical analysis on large data sets in Excel
  • Ability to work independently and creatively, exercising judgment and discretion
  • Skills to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Compensation analytics, workforce analytics, or business intelligence experience
  • Experience in Human Resources and knowledge of employment law, regulation, and compensation best practices
  • Ability to see beyond the numbers to provide executive-level insight and drive sound decision-making
  • Experience using visualization software, such as Tableau
