Summary
The GQMS (Global Quality Management System) Data Entry Clerk is responsible for the data entry of quality issues into the IQIS and VELES systems. In addition, this position will provide VPC Line support as needed.
Responsibilities
- Accurate data entry into IQIS and VELES
- Perform accurate Quality Issue data entry into IQIS (kiosk) and VELES (desk workstation) in real time in order to provide up-to-date live data for FTTQ (First Time Through Quality) purposes
- If more than one Data Entry Clerk is present, alternate working at the kiosk and desk workstation, unless assigned other duties by the supervisor or manager
- Open and close Repair Orders
- Open and close Repair Orders once unit has been processed by Confirmation
- Check VELES data entry on an hourly basis to endure ROs have been entered correctly and no information is missing
- Communicate with Inspectors and KMMG Repair and/or Quality team members if write-ups or sign-offs are not clearly written on repair order forms
- Provide customer service
- Practice team collaboration and help answer questions and/or bring up concerns
- Respond promptly and professionally to any inquiries
- File and organize ROs and VPC-Line related documents
- Assist in retrieving any of the above documents if needed
- Answer IQIS and VELES data entry questions for Management, KMMG, or other third party vendors
- Comply with Safety and Quality standards
- Participate in daily startup meetings and Safety meetings
- Maintain a safe working environment and follow all company policies and procedures
- Conform to quality standards, and alert and communicate any quality concerns with the supervisor and/or manager
- Other duties as assigned
- On occasion GQMS Date Clerk may be asked to perform other duties to allow the VPC department to adjust more easily and quickly to workload fluctuations, employee absences, and unexpected or temporary business demands.
Possible areas of support are:- Driving off/on the VPC Line belt
- VPC pre-check (using a hand held scanner)
- Hanging Monroneys
- Battery testing
- etc.
- On occasion GQMS Date Clerk may be asked to perform other duties to allow the VPC department to adjust more easily and quickly to workload fluctuations, employee absences, and unexpected or temporary business demands.
- Ability to use PCs and database systems (VELES and IQIS).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Must be able to handle simple issues drawing from past experiences.
- Must be detail oriented and safety conscious.
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays.
- Versatility, flexibility, and willingness to work within changing priorities.
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma/GED OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Valid Driver's license
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit in front of a desk and/or in front of the computer for long periods
- Repetitive use of hand/grasping product, writing, and typing
- Lift up to 20lbs
- Carry up to 20lbs
- Stand/walk
- Must be comfortable working at heights (e.g., upper decks of rail cars)
- Must be comfortable operating heavy machinery such as buck loader
