DAY HABILITATION Counselor Part Time Job at Life's WORC
- Two shift options: 24 hrs per week (Mon, Wed & Fri 7:30am - 3:30pm) OR 16 hrs per week (Tues & Thurs 7:30am - 3:30pm)
- Locations available: Garden City, Glendale, Islandia, Old Bethpage & Queens Village
- The hourly pay rate for this position is $16 or $17 per hour depending on location/autism experience
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder is a plus
- Good communication, writing and computer skills
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to work independently
Some Responsibilities include:
- Provide ongoing protective oversight to individuals as per ISP safeguards.
- Implement Day Habilitation Plan for each person.
- Complete monthly summary reports accurately and timely for people supported
- Enter information accurately and contemporaneously on each person’s daily billing sheets and/or electronic system, to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Implement behavioral support plans as written and ensure associated data collection.
- Attend all required in-service training (i.e., CPR, SCIP and Defensive Driving) and staff meetings.
- Adhere to all regulations and agency policies and procedures (i.e., incident reporting)
- Develop and maintain a positive working relationships at volunteer sites, with family members and with Circles of Support.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and safe environment. Proper use and maintenance of equipment and appliances.
- Drive agency vehicles and demonstrate safe driving practices.
- Travel train program participants via public transportation.
