Looking to apply your warehouse leadership experience to a purpose driven, operationally focused and growing warehouse operations team making an impact in the world? The Distribution Center Manager will implement practices that improve the effectiveness and financial performance of the distribution center while balancing the protection of company assets and maximizing exceptional customer service in our Las Vegas, NV location. Thriving in a fast pace and dynamic environment, the DC Manager is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate distribution activities including receiving, shipping, inventory, and process-oriented material handling and plays an instrumental part in bringing clean, affordable, and modern energy to the world.
Helps Soligent make a positive impact by:
- Managing all inbound and outbound shipments including but not limited to sorting, logging, delivering, packing, and shipping
- Coordinating with different departments; sales, customer service, supply chain, distribution and accounting to ensure orders will ship per promise date(s)
- Owning and assisting with the preparation of shipping and receiving documentation; ensuring orderly files for all documentation
- Owning the management & coordination of all shipping/receiving activities; Proactively managing timely picks to meet on time delivery
- Manages warehouse labor, including full-time and temporary employee hours and adjusts according to established procedures and varying workloads
- Maintaining performance records and provide feedback on performance including disciplinary actions as needed
- Managing the scheduling of daily transportation with logistics service providers (LTL, FedEx, UPS, etc.); ensuring preferred freight carriers are utilized and billing is done appropriately
- Overseeing and assisting with the inspection of all incoming freight for damage; following up with purchasing to resolve any damaged freight issues
- Tracking and reporting causes of order shipment delays and coordinate with cross-functional groups on both short-term and long-term fixes
- Planning, organizing, and directing administrative and warehouse activities to meet or exceed established goals in a cost-effective manner
- Coordinating with the Director of Operations to address organizational needs, equipment utilization and maintenance
- Ensuring that operational supplies are on hand and available at all times
- Maintaining accurate material inventory records and facilitates daily cycle counts and periodic physical inventories; Investigating problems, determine root cause and help implement solutions
- Managing all site distribution activities and facility functionality; Maintaining excellent safety and housekeeping standards
- Ensuring that employees have the required safety training and are consistently working in a safe manner; helping to develop and implement safety programs to reduce accidents and injuries
- Ensuring that DC operations comply with federal, state, local, and/or company policies and regulations
- Preparing all required reports and correspondence
- Identifying, documenting, and implementing opportunities for continuous improvement
- Keeping up to date on overall activities of the team, identifying problem areas and taking corrective actions
- Performs other duties as assigned by manager
Location: Las Vegas, NV
Required Skills/Proficiencies:
- 5+ years of experience in Distribution, Warehousing, or Supply Chain leadership
- In-depth Excel knowledge
- Proficiency with ERP systems- NetSuite preferred
- Working knowledge of WMS & TMS systems required.
- Proven ability to work successfully in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Excellent communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong planning, organization, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Working knowledge of shipping practices including international handling and packaging methods
- Ability to operate Forklift and pass certification (existing certification preferred)
- Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
Compensation for this role for a candidate based in Colorado is expected to be between $80,000- $85,000 and for a candidate in NYC is expected to be between $80,000- $85,000, but may be higher or lower in other States due to geographic differentials in the labor market.
