We are looking for our next Global Director, IOD Delivery Systems supporting the Global Surgical Team, in Fort Worth, TX. As a Global Director, IOD Delivery Systems you will be responsible for leading the overall delivery system strategy (IOLs/Glaucoma) in collaboration and partnership with key stakeholders within the Global Surgical Franchise and other critical functions (e.g., NA Commercial, International Commercial, R&D, MTO, S&OP, Reg Affairs, Med Affairs, etc.). Alcon’s delivery system portfolio (~$300m in global revenue FY2022) is an enabler to unlock the potential of our IOL and glaucoma products, representing one of Alcon’s primary growth drivers relative to top-line performance and operating income contribution.
In this role, the responsibilities and metrics will include:
- Provide cross-functional leadership to successfully drive product development, indications/claims, and marketing strategies to drive IOD Delivery System adoption and conversion.
- Develop and implement global marketing strategies and tactics for IOD Delivery Systems portfolio, in partnership with North America and International Marketing teams.
- Represent IOD Delivery Systems cross-functional team during key governance meetings (e.g., GFT, STC/SGB), steering committees and any other additional business forums that provide updates/progress on commercial initiatives (e.g., GB&I).
- Partner cross-functionally with North America/International, R&D, MTO to prioritize investment decisions that increase the value of the IOD Delivery System portfolio.
- Provide R&D with solid, evidence-based information and recommendations to ensure that new products, indications, and claims fill significant and profitable commercial needs. Directly responsible for generating with R&D the market requirement specifications for each new product (e.g., Target Product Profile, TPP)
- Partner with R&D and other key stakeholders to properly manage IOD Delivery System projects through the Alcon Stage-Gate process.
- Partner with North America and International commercial leadership, MTO and S&OP to ensure forecast accuracy, capacity planning, and executable launch cadence strategies to ensure maximization of value extraction balanced with optimized customer experience.
- Partner with Business Development & Licensing to evaluate external opportunities that increase the overall value of the IOD Delivery System portfolio.
- Develop Commercial Launch Readiness (CLR) guidance for IOD Delivery Systems new product launches in collaboration with North America and International marketing teams that enable effective and impactful global product launches.
- Establish global pricing guidelines, in collaborations with Global Pricing, North America and International Marketing teams to mitigate price erosion and elevate value proposition of IOD Delivery Systems.
- Effectively manage IOD Delivery System discretionary/promotional and T&E budgets.
- IOD Delivery Systems and total IOL global sales & unit/value market share targets.
- IOD Delivery Systems average selling price (ASP) targets.
- Overall IOD Delivery Systems budget management (% vs. TGT).
- Achievement of annual IOD Delivery Systems Project Shared Core Team Goals.
What you’ll bring to Alcon:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +18 yrs.; Assoc.+14 yrs.; M.S.+7 yrs.; PhD+6 yrs.)
- The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English
- 10 Years of Relevant Experience
- 6 Years of Demonstrated Leadership
Work hours: Monday-Friday Daytime with weekends as needed for events and travel

Preferred Skills and Experiences:
- Graduate level degree preferred (e.g., MBA or equivalent).
- Experience working in Ophthalmology-related pharmaceutical or medical device field.
- Experience in launching and/or promoting products across multiple markets, geographies.
- Experience managing and leading cross-functional teams.
- Experience working with R&D to develop/introduce strategic additions to a product portfolio.
- General familiarity with healthcare reimbursement landscape, US, and OUS, ideally.
- Strong collaboration, and organizational skills with proven ability to successfully manage
- numerous, simultaneous activities and meet deadlines.
- Strong business acumen and analytical skills.
- Strong operational and/or business planning mindset.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to operate effectively in a global environment.
