Responsibilities & Requirements:
Job Summary
The Dental Team Leader provides assistance and support to all areas of the dental practice. This position is responsible for effectively leading, developing, directing, and providing oversight to the support staff while leading quality and safety compliance initiatives and ensuring a productive work environment.

Responsibilities of the Dental Team Leader
  • Fill in for Dental Service Representative or Dental Technician to replace absenteeism and help cover high volume periods
  • Provide work direction with clear responsibility for the coordination of resources to effectively support the day-to-day operations, ensuring a smooth flow of patients through the clinic
  • Oversee the staff activities to provide a consistent patient experience
  • Assist or direct patient concerns, complaints and issues to the appropriate department
  • Coordinate the needs of the doctors and serve as liaison between doctors and support staff to mediate and resolve any issues as necessary
  • Ensure staff and patient safety is maintained at all times following OSHA, CDC and HIPAA guidelines
  • Manage the sterilization area ensuring the testing of the equipment is performed and logged, reporting failed test results to the Associate Practice Manager
  • Act as a change agent supporting continuous improvement initiatives using lean principles and tools
  • Perform all inventory duties including ordering, unpacking and stocking of supplies

Qualifications of the Dental Team Leader
  • Minimum 5 years’ DA or RDH experience required
  • Graduate from an accredited DA or RDH program
  • Clinical knowledge of dental instrumentation, sterilization techniques, radiography and radiation exposure protocol
  • Comprehensive understanding of DA computer systems and procedures
