The Morning Star Company and its affiliates operate three tomato processing facilities in Central California, processing 35% to 40% of the California processing tomato crop, in addition to tomato transplanting, harvesting and trucking operations. The company employs approximately 450 year-round and 2,500 seasonal colleagues and annual sales exceeding $800 million.

We are organizationally structured through a system we term Mission Focused Self-Management. Our company is operated by colleagues without titles or an appointed hierarchy of authority. DePalletizer Operator: This position is responsible for learning every aspect of the automatic can Depalletizers. Operates console that controls the automatic DePalletizer to transfer empty cans onto the automatic conveyor.

Operational Responsibilities:

• Understand how to operate the Depalletizers
• Observe cans to identify cans with defects
• Record pallet tags manually
• Operate equipment safety and efficiently
• STOP Depalletizer to clear jams, adjust cans, or when manually removing cans
• Immediately notify mechanic of equipment malfunction
• Relieve other Depalletizer operators for breaks and lunches
• Keep area neat and clean

Physical Requirements for Job Description:

• Frequent and repetitive hand/wrist and shoulder movements
• Occasional climbing stairs
• Constant reaching, grasping, pulling, and lifting on a regular basis of up to 40 pounds
• Constant standing, twisting, bending, and lifting throughout the shift
• Significant amount of work involving hand eye coordination

Work Environment:

• Fast paced production
• High heat and Humidity
• Wet and slippery conditions

Competency Requirements:

• Follow all Liberty Packing policies, including GMP’s and safety daily
• Able to work in a self-managed environment
• Maintains a positive attitude towards other colleagues
