Design Engineer – Water Resources Job at Engineering Resource Associates
Engineering Resource Associates, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Civil Design Engineer to work with our Water Resources Department in our Warrenville office. ERA provides Phase I and Phase II drainage studies and stormwater infrastructure design services for our municipal clients throughout northeastern Illinois and southern Wisconsin. This position would primarily work on stormwater studies, flood improvement designs and municipal reviews. The primary responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
The ideal candidate will have graduated from an ABET accredited college or university with a BS in Civil Engineering and is working towards their professional engineering license in addition to the qualifications listed below.
Candidates must be organized, self-motivated, dependable, personable, and able to multi-task and work effectively as a team player. This position has room for growth at ERA. It is expected that this position will work out of the Warrenville, IL office with future opportunities for work-from-home available. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
- Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling for storm sewer design,
- Preparation of civil engineering design drawings, specifications & estimates,
- Stormwater studies and master planning reports,
- Permitting assistance to meet federal, state, and local ordinances, and
- Design reviews for local municipalities.
The ideal candidate will have graduated from an ABET accredited college or university with a BS in Civil Engineering and is working towards their professional engineering license in addition to the qualifications listed below.
- 0-7 years of experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficiency in technical and business writing
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Ability to multi-task and take on multiple projects at a time
- Municipal engineering experience for stormwater and public infrastructure projects is a plus
- Knowledge in commonly used hydrologic/hydraulic modeling software is a plus
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and / or MicroStation is preferred
- EIT preferred, not required
- PE preferred, not required
