DESKTOP MUSICIAN INSTRUCTOR
College of Marin is in immediate need of a substitute MUSIC instructor(s) qualified to teach the Desktop Musician Series. Fall 2022 semester courses:
MUS 116 – DESKTOP MUSICIAN I
Basic concepts of electronic music synthesis, digital audio recording, and MIDI. The class emphasizes creating original multi-track recordings using loops, software instruments, and audio tracks; and includes editing, mixing, and mastering techniques. Supervised hands-on practice sessions in addition to required individual lab time. (CSU)
Dates: November – 12/16/22 (Finals Week 12/12 -12/16/22)
Days: Monday & Wednesday
Times: 11:10 am to 12:30 pm
Campus: Kentfield, CA (in person)
MUS 117 – DESKTOP MUSICIAN II
(Prerequisite: MUS 116.) A continuation of MUS 116 – DESKTOP MUSICIAN I. (CSU)
Dates: November – 12/16/22 (Finals Week 12/12 -12/16/22)
Days: Wednesdays
Times: 7:10 pm – 10:00 pm
Campus: Kentfield, CA (in person)
REQUIREMENTS
A Master's degree or Certificate in recording engineering, electronic music, or music production; equivalent professional experience; or at least 4 semesters of relevant post-secondary coursework; or
The equivalent;and
Demonstrated sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students and the campus community.
CLEARANCES
Prior to employment, the successful candidate must successfully pass a fingerprint and tuberculin clearance.
All employees new to the District must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, prior to employment unless approved as exempt due to verified medical or religious reasons (as defined in federal or state laws and regulations).
