As our Development Associate, you are a key member of the Development team at Perkins which is in growth stages to raise more than $20 million dollars annually by 2026. As a true partner, you will support the development and administrative processes integral to our work, and must be extremely detail-oriented and ensure delivery of impeccable donor services. You will work closely with the Institutional and Individual Giving teams and must demonstrate an ability to interact with staff and donors (at all levels) in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient, and do so with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders; anticipate needs and exceed the expectations of our prospects, donors, members, friends and Perkins partners

Plan donor cultivation and stewardship events (non-Signature events) with leadership; lead evaluation/analysis of events and preparation of follow up reporting/materials

Oversee logistical planning, manage event budgets and oversee administrative duties of donor events

Oversee third party fundraising events - serve as primary liaison with external groups; manage logistics, promotion, and support needs

Manage and distribute customized queries, dashboards and reports including weekly donor meeting snapshots; pre and post event donor approach; sending personalized acknowledgement calls for leadership to execute, and more

Write, proofread, and edit correspondence including but not limited to gift agreements, addendums, donor letters, gift proposals and presentations

Execute high-end in-house appeals and mailings

Support planned giving program by maintaining documentation and communication with 1829 Circle members

Assist with scheduling internal development meetings, calendar and contacts maintenance, meeting preparation (i.e. prepping materials for distribution), and taking minutes

Coordinate hospitality for development visitors, including creating/maintaining up-to-date visitor information guide, reserving meeting room(s), coordinating catering/refreshments, partnering with security, preparing thank you gifts, etc

Coordinate Institutional and Individual Giving registrations for conferences, special events, etc.

Perform administrative duties as necessary including entering contact reports in the donor database, filing, copying, sorting, mailing, etc.

Provide backup coverage for other department support staff

Perform other duties that may be assigned

Excellent computer skills and knowledge of donor data management best practices; Salesforce experience desirable.
Education and/or Experience
-
Bachelor’s degree.

2+ years of development, administrative assistant or related experience required.

Flexibility in schedule required, must be on campus a minimum of 2 days per week and when required per departmental needs.
