NAMI (The National Alliance on Mental Illness) Montgomery County PA (MontCoPa), is seeking an engaging and organized Development Coordinator.

The Development Coordinator is a keystone member of the NAMI MontCoPa team, focusing on successfully leading fundraising efforts and special events, social media and website management, and marketing/development planning. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic self-starter who enjoys mission driven work and has the ability to multi-task. The NAMI MontCoPa affiliate values relationship-based fundraising and seeks an individual whose goals are aligned with that philosophy. The Development Coordinator will report to the Executive Director and work closely with the board’s Development Committee and the other team members at NAMI MontCoPa.

Further, the ideal candidate will have a demonstrated a commitment to help people impacted by mental illness build better lives. The candidate will possess exemplary written and verbal communication, will be organized, dependable, and have strong interpersonal skills. Occasional night and weekend hours are required of this position. This position allows for up to 30 hours a week. Must be able to lift at least 30 lbs.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all media and announcements, including notification of support groups and events.
  • Coordinate and manage affiliate social media outputs including event management, programming, outreach, and visibility strategy.
  • Update and manage the affiliate’s website.
  • Marketing of NAMI MontCoPa to our local community through printed and electronic methods. Create flyers and social media posts for distribution.
  • Represent NAMI MontCoPa at various stakeholder meetings.
  • Create strong business relationships with current and potential funders, organizations, corporations and other community organizations. Collaborate with these business partners on activities that further the affiliate’s mission.
  • Assist with design and updating of promotional and development materials, including brochures, posters, fact sheets, proposals, etc.
  • Organize NAMI Montgomery County PA events and functions. Coordinate, through partnership with the NAMI MontCoPa team, the affiliate’s participation in other community events and functions which promote our mission.
  • Work closely with the Executive Director to plan fundraising activities and completion of grants. Independently perform fund raising tasks as assigned.
  • Attend networking events with the Executive Director to increase the role’s professional network.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

· High School Diploma. College preferred.

· Experience with organizing and facilitating special events.

· Proven track record in meeting fundraising goals.

· Knowledge of social media tools (Facebook, Instagram, & LinkedIn) and website management.

· Ability to work some occasional nights and weekends.

· An understanding of and belief in the mission of NAMI Montgomery County PA.

· Public relations and marketing experience.

· Able to organize events and functions.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Adobe.

· Self-starter, able to work without supervision

· Ability to clearly delegate tasks.
