Mission:
The mission of The Next Door is to provide a continuum of substance abuse and mental health services for women in an environment of faith and healing to restore hope and a lifetime of recovery.
Summary:
The community outreach and events coordinator will play a significant role in the
organization’s fundraising efforts. The position will work on the development team with primary responsibilities that include coordinating all fundraising events for the organization and developing a strategy to promote The Next Door at community events, through speaking engagements and other publicity efforts.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties include the following:
Coordinate the agency’s 3-4 major fundraising events, which includes:- Managing overall planning process
- Supervising volunteers/committees
- Securing corporate sponsorships
- Developing/adhering to event budget and managing all event finances
- Overseeing design of all printed and ancillary materials
- Managing/overseeing day-of logistics/post-event thank you
- Managing event publicity
- Reach annual fundraising goals – especially as it pertains to:
- Individual giving
- Corporate partnerships
- Fundraising events
- Maintain event guests lists, using Excel spreadsheets and event management software
- Serve as TND spokesperson in the community
Coordinate and lead quarterly tour and information session for donors/volunteers/community partners- Lead and cultivate Young Professionals Board of Directors
- Find new avenues of increasing TND’s revenue through creative and innovative ideas and partnerships in the community
- Find new avenues of increasing TND’s presence in the community through outreach efforts and building strategic partnerships in the community
- Additional responsibilities as assigned
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 2 years of non-profit experience preferred
- Prior experience with event planning and event management required
- Understanding of the needs of women and families impacted by addiction, mental illness, trauma and/or incarceration helpful.
Qualifications:
To be successful in executing the responsibilities and duties assigned in this job, a person must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The person must have a successful track record in setting, achieving, and exceeding measurable goals and outcomes. This person must be self-motivated and take direction well. This person must be a caring, servant leader and must consistently make quality, ethical decisions.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Possess computer skills including e-mail, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Have a valid Driver’s License
