Job Summary:
The Patient Care Technician provides direct hands on services of a technical nature to adult dialysis patients under the supervision of the RN or Nephrologists. The PCT is a member of the interdisciplinary team.
Minimum Requirements:
Education/Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent. Experience: Previous experience in an acute care environment desired.Previous experience as a PCT, CAN or EMT desirableLicensure/Certificates: Current BLS required within 6 months from date of hireBONENT; NNCO or NNCC certification required within 18 months from date of hire.Skills: Ability to perform complex tasks in a consistently accurate manner. Ability to function within specified boundaries. Extensive reading, skill validation and test taking required during orientation. Demonstrates ability to deliver services to adult patients.Physical Requirements: Walking, standing, bending, lifting, pushing equipment. Must be able to assist and sometimes position patients.Category I work environmentMust be able to identify and differentiate colors
